The standard on which the Green Squared® certification program is based, ANSI A138.1, is divided into five sections. The first section, Environmental Product Characteristics, standardizes sustainable attributes such as the amount of recycled content, level of volatile organic emissions, amount of indigenous raw materials, etc.

ANSI A138.1 is Approved; Green Squared Certification is Underway
Towards the close of 2011, the industry’s new standard for tile and installation material product sustainability, ANSI A138.1 was approved by the ANSI A108 Committee. Following that approval, the Tile Council of North America (TCNA) was able to move forward with its Green Squared certification program.
