B.A. Schmidt Arts & Enterprises

Description of Bench: The image of the tree on this garden bench is based on the artist’s memory of a wonderful spreading tree in her parents’ backyard. The decorative tiles are all porcelain, and the field tile is travertine. The tree and fish tiles on the side were hand-pressed in plaster molds that were made from models carved by the artist. The leaf and acorn tiles were molded from leaves and acorns from her yard and neighborhood. The tiles are all finished in fired -on ceramic stains, some in multi-colors and others in brown.
